About us

Twenty-five years ago Dunfermline District Council ran a 8 week fencing course. From this casual beginning a club emerged, with help from Mr Noel Grimshaw, the Sports Development Officer of Dunfermline District Council. The club had members who knew nothing and one coach who knew little. Our first venue was Carnegie Centre and we later moved to Dunfermline Centre, where we were based for circa 18 years. Our new venue is Masterton Primary School in Dunfermline's Eastern expansion.

Now a quarter of a century old, Dunfermline Fencing Club has produced fencers in all disciplines and at all levels. The club has always been lucky in the quality of its coaches and some of its members have been selected to represent Scotland and Great Britain, from Cadet to Veteran level. Our present age span is from 7 - 65 and historically we have always had an age group representative of the community at large.

The club has always welcomed fencers whatever their aspirations. The social fencer has always been as welcome as the dedicated internationalist, an attitude we have every intention of continuing.
